About the Author

Amarjit Singh Pabla is presently working as a freelance consultant. He retired as the Chief Engineer with Punjab State Electricity Board. He started his career with Punjab State Electricity Board in 1964 and has a rich experience in diverse areas, including distribution systems, research and development, rural electrification, substation and transmission designs, substation protection and maintenance, electrifi cation of building project, power planning and development, tariff s and billing, thermal power plant operation and maintenance, hydro-power plant design, project and monitoring and material management. Mr. Pabla completed his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Panjab University and Master’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He has contributed 41 technical papers and has received many awards for some of his contributions. He was honoured by the Institution of Engineers (India) for his outstanding professional contribution in the field of power systems. A Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India), he has authored another book titled Electric Power Planning.
