Das Buch Elektrische Antriebe - Regelung von Antriebssystemen besitzt eine dreiteilige Struktur. Im ersten Teil werden die regelungstechnischen Grundlagen gelegt. Anschlie end wird die Regelung von elektrischen Maschinen, insbesondere die Gleichstrommaschine, die Asynchronmaschine und die Synchronmaschine, behandelt. Im letzten Teil des Werkes wird die Regelung von elektrischen Maschinen in unterschiedlichen Anwendungsfällen diskutiert.

In der neuen Auflage wurden die Querverweise und die Verständlichkeit verbessert. Damit ist ein sicherer sowie schneller Zugriff bei Fragen gewährleistet. Der Aufbau und der Umfang wurden an die aktuelle Bedeutung der Themen angepasst. Beispielweise wurden die Kapitel über besondere Betriebszustände gekürzt sowie die Kapitel über die Simulation antriebstechnischer Systeme und die Identifikation linearer Systeme herausgenommen. Hinzugekommen sind Kapitel zu Nichtlinearitäten, hierbei wird der Ansatz Funnel-Control vorgestellt. Die Idee des Verfahren ist, den Istwert in einem zeitlich variablen Tunnel zu führen, wobei die Strecke unbekannt sein kann.

Das Werk ist Teil eines fünfbändigen Lehr- und Nachschlagwerkes, beginnend mit "Elektrische Antriebe - Grundlagen", diesem Buch, "Intelligente Verfahren - Regelung nichtlinearer Systeme", Elektrische Antriebe - Leistungselektronische Schaltungen" und "Leistungselektronische Bauelemente".
