His research interest includes seismology, rock mechanics, earthquake engineering, and heat transfer. Dr. Chakraborty has carved out a niche in the field of his areas of research. He is also a member of the Indian Society for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and the Indian National Science Congress Association.
