This is a memoir detailing the experiences of Melanie O'Shea as an abused child. Labeled a problem-child and humiliated by the adults in her life, Melanie had no refuge from the terror she experienced at her parents' hands. In the final chapters, Melanie considers the value of forgiveness and the place it has when a defenseless child is no longer defenseless.

Melanie O'Shea was born in New England. After years of torment and abuse, she fled to the Midwest at eighteen years old to attend college. Melanie earned a Bachelor's degree in Education and has been working with children for years. Melanie still lives in the Midwest with her husband and daughter.
