With the help of a prickly cactus, a lily pad and a blooming flower, Emelia learns that what is fair will not always look equal.

Emelia Understands Equity is a realistic, powerful tale with a timely message about equity in the classroom. Written for children ages 5 to 11, the book also offers lessons for parents, counselors and teachers with tips that are included in the back of the book.
