The majority of the principles shared in this book, Empower Your Purpose: The Daniel FEAST, were gathered and applied during Betsy's 10 year single parenting season. As a young mother she found herself in poverty, yet with responsibility to help five young sons to adulthood. She knew that if she were ill, she couldn't fulfill her purpose as their mother. She simply HAD to have energy and clear thinking, a positive attitude and be disease free. Her sons were depending on her. Today, Betsy and all five sons are healthy and thriving. Each of her sons are married, gainfully employed, own their own homes, pay their taxes, make volunteer contributions into society, have a strong tradition of faith, love and respect one another. Among this family, they have more than twenty degrees completed or in the process. They enjoy the presence of matriarch/patriarchs from The Great Generation. Their family is continually enjoying the growing number of vibrant, delightful grand children, with numbers thirteen and fourteen having been born this year. Although, she wouldn't consider herself a foodie, Betsy (as a certified raw chef) thoroughly enjoys preparing health-building foods for those she loves; chatting about health and life all the while. Betsy is one who enjoys the dream, but she is equally characterized as one who does the work it takes to make the vision a reality. She continually dreams and plans, implements, learns, grows, dreams and plans some more. Betsy relishes her faith, family, friends, food, books, bicycling, swimming, jogging, step aerobics, and is a life-long-learner. Betsy and her husband, John, live in a condominium in downtown Tulsa. John has served as a minister for over 45 years and is currently Ten times better! 162 employed as a Hospice Chaplain. Together they are certified with Dr. George Malkmus as two of over 10,000 Health Ministers. They have created a social service with a strong focus on the physical and relational health of the single parent household and foster children. Betsy also enjoys mediating for Oklahoma Supreme Court in Family/Divorce and Child Welfare cases.
