About The Book

Energy Serfdom to Energy Freedom will be a joy to anyone weary of the lies, politics, and misinformation that drives the petroleum industry today. Written for the novice, this book provides a summary of 20th Century petroleum history, plus it will also uncover the mysteries behind: petroleum origin world production price impact factors emerging shale gas fracking tar sands Future sources are also described such as oil shale and clean coal conversion to liquid fuel by use of the Fischer-Tropsch process. Five sources of petroleum with synthetic alternatives are what the United States needs to be independent from foreign sources, but the next petroleum frontier is massive methane hydrate deposits that exist in the deep offshore around the margins of all continents, and at shallower depths in the Arctic. Bottom line, this planet is blessed with immense petroleum resources and for too much of the past century we've been paying too much for it.

About The Author

Donald Statter is a Petroleum Geologist whose career was displaced by the first Oil Glut as he graduated from college in 1982. He has had a variety of other vocations, including cartographer, college professor, remote sensor analysis and development, and water company president. He resides in Lusby, Maryland, with his first wife of over 30 years. He has five children and four grandchildren.
