La trilogía, forjada durante largo tiempo, comenzó con La explosión del sujeto y continuó con La problemática de la subjetividad, culminando con este ensayo. No existe una articulación temática, sino conexiones manifiestas e imperceptibles entre los diferentes textos. El movimiento final -desde el cual toma sentido el comienzo- es un retorno diferenciado a un punto de inflexión, donde aguarda una ética para ser elucidada.

La explosión del sujeto trató de llevar hasta su frontera, a menudo forzándolo desde dentro, el discurso freudiano para hacerle decir lo que no quiso, ni pudo o no alcanzó a decir. La idea fue seguir la marcha de su pensamiento sobre las masas para arribar a un puerto fuera de itinerario, el desfondamiento del sujeto clásico. Con su alocución finaliza un movimiento comenzado un siglo atrás.

Entonces queda, de ese modo, facilitado el pasaje a La problemática de la subjetividad. Un ensayo, una conversación.

Ella deambula por una rigurosa imbricación de cuestiones. Cada una avanza según su ritmo y peculiaridades, sin que ninguna definición congele sus desarrollos.

El encadenamiento de cuestiones finalmente se resuelve en un concepto de subjetividad que rehuye lo obvio y rechaza toda duplicidad. Es la conclusión obligada, impulsada por el orden secuencial.

Ahora cabe la re-unión que da paso, entonces, a un concepto de subjetividad como el desplegado en la Problemática; subjetividad que debía ser llevada hasta sus propios límites. Ahí toma el relevo Ensayo sobre el pensamiento sutil. La cuestión de la causalidad, la causalidad en cuestión, que emprende una tarea sin precedentes que se hayan ocupado expresamente de los asuntos trabajados en el libro. Ella consiste en deslindar la causalidad de la determinación, y en someter ésta a la herida íntima o desterminación que no le permite cicatrizar.

La exploración avanza mediante una elucidación crítica propositiva.

A ella se pliega una dramática de las afecciones conceptuales (como le gusta llamarla al autor). Por ella la manifestación de los olvidos, censuras, omisiones, exclusiones y demás procesos, juegan como condiciones de emergencia y formulación de una ética que bullía en el magma de lo soterrado.

Con esos vehículos, por distintas vías, se accede a una compleja y ramificada ética de la responsabilidad (ya desentendida de nociones como "carga", "culpa", "sacrificio", "causa de..." y otras virtudes teologales) valorada como el acto mismo por el cual un sujeto se convierte en singularmente colectivo.
