Weitere neue, bislang nicht genutzte Potenziale zur Entlastung von Pflegekräften in Krankenhäusern durch freiwillig Engagierte werden aufgezeigt und ausgearbeitet. Seit Jahren ist der Pflegenotstand ein präsentes Thema in den Medien, der Politik und der Gesellschaft. Dennoch verschärft sich der Fachkräftemangel in Pflegeeinrichtungen wie zum Beispiel Altenheimen und in Krankenhäusern immer weiter. Sind freiwillig Engagierte bereits eine Entlastung für Pflegekräfte in deutschen Krankenhäusern? Und wenn ja, wie können freiwillig Engagierte zukünftig eine grö ere Entlastung sein? Die aktuelle Personalsituation der Pflegekräfte in Krankenhäusern sowie die Entwicklung des Krankenhaussektors wird beleuchtet und die Auswirkungen des Pflegenotstands benannt. Die bisherigen gesundheitspolitischen Ma nahmen zur Minderung des Pflegekräftemangels werden anschlie end dargelegt. Die Aufgabenbereiche von Pflegekräften werden erörtert und Ansätze möglicher delegierbarer Tätigkeiten geschildert. Es werden auch rechtliche Möglichkeiten zu Delegation hinterfragt. Die Entwicklung des freiwilligen Engagements in Deutschland gibt einen ersten Anhaltspunkt, ob genügend potenziell freiwillig Engagierte zur Verfügung stehen, um die Pflegekräfte zu unterstützen. Neben den benötigten Versicherungen werden die Haftungsfragen erörtert. Im weiteren Verlauf wird der Einsatz von Freiwilligen in Krankenhäusern und deren Aufgaben aufgezeigt. Projekte, die aktuell durch die Corona-Pandemie entstehen, geben weitere Anhaltspunkte für eine Entlastung.
