Nach einer Einf�hrung in 3D-Systeme (Teil I) mit den sich ergebenden neuen Anwendungsm�glichkeiten wird detailliert auf die beiden wesentlichen Abschnitte des Entwurfs - Modellierung und Simulation (Teil II) sowie Layoutentwurf (Teil III) - eingegangen. Die Behandlung der Probleme mit zugeh�rigen L�sungsans�tzen erfolgt dabei entsprechend des Entwurfsflusses, d. h. in der Reihenfolge ihrer Bearbeitung.

Das Buch ist interessant insbesondere f�r Entscheider in der Industrie sowie f�r Studenten der Elektronik an Universit�ten und Fachhochschulen.

Prof. Jens Lienig leitet das Institut für Feinwerktechnik und Elektronik-Design der TU Dresden, wo seit Jahren zum 3D-Entwurf geforscht wird. Unter seiner Betreuung entstanden mehrere erfolgreiche Dissertationen auf diesem Gebiet.

Dr. Manfred Dietrich leitet die Abteilung "Mikroelektronische Systeme" am Fraunhofer Institut, Institutsteil Entwurfsautomatisierung, in Dresden. Seit Jahren ist diese Abteilung in verschiedenen Industrie- und Förderprojekten auf dem Gebiet des 3D-Entwurfs integriert; sie arbeitet also aktiv an vorderster Stelle auf diesem neuen Arbeitsfeld mit.
