Robin Russell Gaiser is the author of three books, all of which fit into the genre of memoirs, but each of which has its own distinctive style. "Musical Morphine: Transforming Pain One Note at a Time" (2016) tells of her professional work as a provider of therapeutic music in nursing homes and hospices; it was a national finalist for a National Book Award in the Self-Help category. In 2018 Pisgah Press released "Open for Lunch," in which she recounts casual meetings with strangers over shared meals, sharing their stories with empathy and compassion . . . while also delving into, and revealing, her own challenges, struggles, and triumphs. The book garnered an NPR interview in 2020. Gaiser has presented before book clubs, bookstores and professional groups, and was featured in a TEDx Talk," Good Vibrations: Less Drugs, More Music." In 2026 comes "Ephemera."

Gaiser holds degrees in English literature and psychology as well as a certificate in therapeutic music. Her short stories and poetry appear in numerous anthologies and journals. As a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist she has performed widely, including at Washington, DC's Kennedy Center, and has numerous CDs. Like other highly talented and sensitive people, Gaiser's creative endeavors are wide-ranging, running the gamut from professional musician, to teacher and guidance counselor, writer, and visual artist. She and her husband live in Asheville, NC.
