About The Book

In einer prospektiven Studie in der Bevolkerung der Stadt Munster und Umgebung wurde versucht, das moderne diagnostische Instrumentarium der Nephrologie fur eine erfolgreiche Fruherkennung und Besserbewertung von Nierenschaden einzusetzen. Gleichzeitig wurde versucht, eine zuverlassige Zahl uber tatsachliche Nierenschaden mit besonderer Berucksichtigung der bakteriellen Infektionen in der Bevolkerung zu erzielen. Dabei wurde nachgewiesen, daB insgesamt in der Bevolkerung Nierenschaden, primar und sekundar in ungewohnlicher Haufigkeit (30 %), existieren. Eine bakterielle Besiedelung der ableitenden Harnwege konnte nur bei 3,7 Prozent der unt- suchten Bevolkerungsgruppe nachgewiesen werden, wobei nur bei der Halfte dieser Probanden Hinweise auf eine tatsachliche Erkrankung der Nieren oder des ableitenden Harntraktes erfaBt wurden. Diese Er- gebnisse legen nahe, die bisher ublichen Vorsorge- untersuchungen durch die molekulargewichtsbezogene Proteinanalyse zu erweitern und auf eine groBere Bevolkerungsgruppe auszudehnen, um behandelbare Erkrankungen der Nieren und der ableitenden Harn- wege rechtzeitig zu erkennen.
