Cu�l es el papel de la reflexi�n �tica, en medicina, psiquiatr�a y psicoan�lisis?Estas inquietudes y otras de �ndole similar, se tratan en esta obra, en la que se encuentran gran parte de las ideas y reflexiones de Klimovsky sobre el psicoan�lisis y algunas de sus posiciones sobre autores como Freud, M. Klein y Lacan, entre otros, as� como acerca de la actividad cient�fica en general, marco conceptual dentro del cual cobran sentido sus consideraciones sobre los fundamentos del psicoan�lisis.Nociones fundamentales como las de teor�a, hip�tesis, modelo, proceso, causalidad y determinismo son exploradas de un modo profundo y claro ilustrando sus aplicaciones con ejemplos tomados de la historia de la ciencia, para luego comprender su utilizaci�n y pertinencia en la teor�a y en la pr�ctica psicoanal�tica.El tratamiento que Klimovsky hace sobre los aspectos epistemol�gicos de la interpretaci�n psicoanal�tica, de la noci�n de realidad ps�quica y de la noci�n de cambio en psicoan�lisis iluminan estos conceptos de un modo fecundo.En s�ntesis, se ha tratado de reunir aqu� la producci�n intelectual de Klimovsky con respecto al psicoan�lisis as� como parte de su interacci�n con otros epistem�logos y psicoanalistas, desde mediados de la d�cada del sesenta, cuando se gestara la as� llamada universidad de las catacumbas. Klimovsky es el primer epistem�logo que ha ordenado cuestiones disciplinares del psicoan�lisis, y lo ha hecho desde el contexto rioplatense, en particular argentino. Desde entonces y hasta ahora ha promovido un proceso de intenso aprendizaje en psicoanalistas de otros pa�ses; la IPA y la Asociaci�n Psicoanal�tica de Roma lo han premiado por sus aportes y el desarrollo tanto del psicoan�lisis como de las ciencias sociales y humanas en general.
