Die Arbeit setzt sich mit der erblichen Intelligenz und den daraus resultierenden Bildungserfolgen auseinander. Hierbei steht neben der genetisch bedingten Intelligenz auch die Umwelt im Fokus. Die Arbeit teilt sich generell in zwei Teile. Im ersten Teil soll vor allem der genetische Aspekt von Bildung untersucht werden, im zweiten Teil soll dies auf den Schulerfolg übertragen werden. Die Herleitung im ersten Teil erfolgt, indem zu-nächst die Erblichkeit anhand der bestehenden Studienlandschaft untersucht werden soll. Hier gab es in den letzten Jahren Fortschritte, da neuere verhaltens- und entwicklungsgenetische Ansätze entwickelt worden sind. Hierbei wird speziell auf dem Genom und Umwelt Wechselspiel eingegangen. Im zweiten Teil soll dies nun auf den Bildungserfolg übertragen werden. Dies erfolgt anhand von Studien, die den Zusammenhang zwischen Schulleistungen und Intelligenz näher betrachten. Auch hierzu werden neueste Studien herangezogen, die aber im Punkt 4.1. speziell mit den gewählten Variablen Alter und Sozialschicht der Familien den Einfluss der Intelligenz auf den Bildungserfolg näher betrachten.
