From the poet's birthplace in Graceville, Minnesota, to California horse tracks, from New York apartments to the Colorado mountains, Owen's perceptive reports on the business of living resonate with humor, energy, and wisdom. Full of news and gossip, bulletins on science and art, memories of love and loss, these poems are superb collages of the myriad erosions that strengthen and shape our lives.

Born in Graceville, Minnesota, Maureen Owen grew up training horses and traveling the Racing Circuit. She is editor of Telephone Books and author of ten poetry collections, including American Rush, an L.A. Times Book Prize finalist, and AE (Amelia Earhart), a recipient of the American Book Award. Formerly a co-director of the Poetry Project, she now lives in Denver and teaches at Naropa University.
