About the Author
Sulatha V. Bhandary is currently working as Professor and Unit Head at Department of Ophthalmology, Kasturba Medical College Manipal, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal (Deemed-to-be-University). She is a cataract and vitreoretinal consultant. She is also the Co-Director of a start-up company Vyabja Ocular Innovation Pvt. Ltd., Coordinator of Centre of Excellence: Ocular Nanoscience, and Medical Director of Kasturba Hospital Eye Bank, Manipal. She was the former Head of Department of Ophthalmology, KMC Manipal, from 2017 to 2022.
Vijaya Pai H. is currently working as Professor and Unit Head, Department of Ophthalmology, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal (Deemed-to-be-University). She was the former Head of Department of Ophthalmology at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Karnataka, from 2004 to 2010. She has 30 years of experience in undergraduate and post graduate teaching.
Lavanya G. Rao is currently a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Dr AV Baliga Memorial Hospital in Udupi, Karnataka. She previously served in the Indian Army, retiring with the rank of Major, and later worked at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, where she was the Head of the Department until her retirement.
Dr. Uma Kulkarni is a Professor in Ophthalmology at Yenepoya Medical College with a keen interest in academics and research, conducting quizzes at regional and Karnataka state level, photography, and poetry. She also teaches bioethics and research ethics at the Centre for Ethics and has experience as the Member-Secretary of the Ethics Committee at Yenepoya (deemed to be University).
