Every Man In His Humour is a play written by the famous English playwright, Ben Jonson. It was first performed in 1598 and is considered to be one of Jonson's earliest and most successful works. The play is a comedy that satirizes the different social classes and their various quirks and follies. The story revolves around a group of characters from different social backgrounds who all have their own unique ""humour"" or personality trait. The play follows their interactions and misunderstandings as they navigate through various situations and try to achieve their goals. The main character is a young man named Edward Knowell, who is trying to win the heart of a woman named Mistress Cynthia. However, he is constantly thwarted by his own insecurities and the meddling of his friends and family. Other notable characters include the brash and boastful soldier, Captain Bobadil, and the cunning and scheming servant, Brainworm. Each character brings their own humour and perspective to the play, making for a lively and entertaining story. Throughout the play, Jonson uses witty dialogue and clever wordplay to poke fun at the various social classes and their foibles.
