This book presents a radical new psychology of self in a dualist and theistic context. For the first time in the history of modern psychology the afterlife of eternity is defined as the shared collective mental world in which every person's mind already exists since birth. We are not aware of each other's presence in this collective mental world until after the three-day dying-resuscitation process that separates our mind from the physical body and world. We then awaken in our spiritual body and continue experiencing an immortal life in the collective mental world where everyone can see and interact with each other through the spiritual body. People in the afterlife of mental eternity congregate on the basis of interests and loves, and live in spiritual communities that are either in heavenly mental states or hellish. Heavenly communities are in mutual love and in love to God, while hellish communities are in selfish love and hatred of God. People choose to live in one or the other type of community on the basis of their personality preferences. This book explains how to acquire personality traits that will allow anyone who desires to live eternally in a heavenly state of mind and community life. This spiritual preparation is called experiencing regeneration and consists of cooperating with God in the gradual lifelong process of personality change from our inherited and acquired selfish loves to mutual love and love of good and truth. Without undergoing regeneration, eternal life in a heavenly mental state is not possible because our selfish personality cannot be happy where mutual love is present. Living in a hellish mental state is marked by suffering and insanity and is to be avoided through equipping our personality with heavenly loves. This book unlocks the secrets of rational enlightenment that is used to defeat our weaknesses and negative dependencies.

Dr. Leon James is a professor of psychology at the University of Hawaii. He has published books on road rage, avatar psychology, theistic psychology, and the spiritual dimension in marriage.
