Die dritte Fachtagung ProzeBrechner wird, ebenso wie die vorangegan- genen ProzeBrechner-Fachtagungen 1974 (Karlsruhe) und 1977 (Augsburg) von der Gesellschaft fUr Informatik (GI), der Gesellschaft MeB- und Regelungstechnik (VDI/VDE-GMR) und dem Kernforschungszentrum Karlsruhe (KfK) gemeinsam veranstaltet. FederfUhrend bei der Fachtagung ProzeB- rechner 1981 in MUnchen ist die Gesellschaft fUr Informatik. Auch die diesjahrige Tagung soll den allgemeinen Methoden der ProzeBrechen- technik, insbesondere der Wechselwirkung zwischen speziellen Anwen- dungsanforderungen einerseits und effizienten, moglichst universellen Hilfsmitteln andererseits gewidmet sein und einen reprasentativen Oberblick Uber den gegenwartigen Stand der Technik geben. Als Hauptproblem der ProzeBrechentechnik und mogliche Schwerpunkte der weiteren Entwicklung sind derzeit erkennbar: Nutzung des technologischen Fortschritts der Mikroelektronik fUr die ProzeBrechentechnik. Erhohung der Zuverlassigkeit, Sicherheit und Fehlertoleranz von ProzeBrechensystemen im Hinblick auf moglichst hohe VerfUgbarkeit. Anwendung fortgeschrittener Programmentwicklungskonzepte bei groBen ProzeBfUhrungssystemen hoher Komplexitat. Ausdehnung der RechnerunterstUtzung auf den gesamten Programm- entwicklungsvorgang. Die genannten Themen sind von hoher Aktualitat. Die stUrmische Ent- wicklung der Mikroelektronik wird eine noch nicht ansehbare Erweite- rung der Anwendungsbereiche der ProzeBrechentechnik mit sich bringen und das Interesse der Offentlichkeit in zunehmendem MaBe auf dieses Gebiet lenken. Rechnergesteuerte technische Systeme unterliegen be- sonders hohen Anforderungen hinsichtlich Zuverlassigkeit und Sicher- heit. Architektur und Programmausstattung haben diesem Umstand Rechnung zu tragen. IV Der Steigerung der Software-Kosten schlieBlich kann angesichts der Komplexitat der Aufgabenstellungen nicht mehr mit konventionellen Programmiermethoden begegnet werden. Neue Ansatze zur systematischen UnterstUtzung des gesamten Programmentwicklungsprozesses (Stichwort Software-engineering) werden zunehmend Eingang in die ProzeBrechen- technik finden.
