Ce livre est une thèse qui vise à étudier les facteurs associés à la pneumonie communautaire chez les enfants de moins de 5 ans dans l'une des divisions de la région du Sud-Ouest du Cameroun.La pneumonie communautaire (PAC) reste un problème majeur de santé publique et une cause principale de morbidité et de mortalité chez les enfants de moins de 5 ans dans le monde. L'OMS estime que 156 millions de nouveaux cas de pneumonie surviennent chaque année dans le monde chez les enfants de moins de cinq ans, dont 95 % dans les pays en développement. Les mesures de contrôle comprennent la vaccination, l'éducation à la santé visant à réduire les risques associés aux facteurs de risque communs. Le vaccin pneumococcique conjugué 13-valent est la principale stratégie d'intervention pour prévenir les nouvelles infections. Bien que les vaccins soient utilisés depuis 2011 au Cameroun, les infections des voies respiratoires inférieures restent une cause majeure de morbidité et de mortalité, en particulier chez les enfants. Les facteurs associés aux infections de pneumonie ont été cartographiés dans certains pays. Cependant, aucune étude n'a été identifiée dans la région. Par conséquent, cette étude visait à évaluer les tendances des infections des voies respiratoires inférieures et les facteurs de risque de la PAC dans la division de Fako, au Cameroun.
