Dulac was a French-born, British naturalised magazine illustrator, book illustrator and stamp designer, who despite his increasing years, wished to help the war effort in any way he could. The drawings of Fairy Tales of the Allied Nations are delicately drawn, notable for their classic fairy tale charms and Japanese stylistic influence. The skilfully coloured images further refine the enchantingly simple story telling - all presented together in this text. It is a book to be enjoyed by both young and old; a beautiful object, produced at a time of great peril.
