They live in a world of New York penthouses, grand estates, global corporations, militarized police task forces, drug gangs, and rich powerful men. The unintended consequences of the Beach House propels the novel against undertow of several large and powerful families and the Brotherhood drug gang; a vicious Captain intent on bringing down the alleged godfather of the Brotherhood drug gang; the revenge for two decades old car-bombings; a mad-bomber being chased by an assassin across the Mid-South; and in the middle of it all, a race by Leigh Davis to retrieve hundreds of millions from a German investment bank before it can declare bankruptcy. FAMILY is a crime family saga and a thriller with a sly sense of humor. The action whirls from Nassau to Manhattan to Atlanta to Memphis to New Orleans with side trips to Tokyo and Frankfurt, Germany. Nothing is as it seems. There are shocks around every corner and portrayals of loyalty at the cost of personal safety as Lindsey Coltrane and Leigh Davis fight to be victors rather victims.
