"Family as We See" It began as a writing project. It was geared toward helping myself gain a better perspective on how to approach negative past experiences and become wise and intentional about creating new ones. It evolved into a candid exposé of various family experiences of gangsters, doctors, ministers, artists, and international motivational speakers. They paint perfect illustrations of how what we come from impacts who we are, while our choices dictate the courses of our lives and who we will ultimately become. It discusses family as our initial institution in life and the affect it has on the world through the individuals it produces. It discloses how every family, team, and tribe are responsible for the people it develops and presents to the world. We are all connected in some way. We are all family. As we see it through our own lenses, let us remember we all have lenses. We can all help each other make the world better through relationships.

Lewis fell in love with writing in the seventh grade at Madison Middle School in West Seattle, Washington, when he first read poems Robert Frost, Langston Hughes and Emily Dickenson. After publishing his own book of poetry, followed by his own memoir, Lewis sought to bring a fresh perspective to the world with a book about family. With a book of spoken-word, another collection of interviews, and a children's book in the works, Lewis personally endeavors to be effective and evolutionary. To mentally unite people through elucidation of demoninators common to humanity.
