Unter Verzicht auf Spitzenwerte mechanischer Eigenschaften sollte es aber moglich sein. bei Verwendung kostengUnstiger keramischer Fasern und einfacherer Herstellungstechnologien ein hinreichend verstarktes Aluminiumhalbzeug zu ent- wickeln. das in gewissem Umfang weiterverarbeitbar ist un dessen Herstellungskosten groBere Anwendungs- moglichkeiten zulassen.Ober einige Untersuchungen hierzu wird im Folgenden berichtet. 2 Pulvermetallurgische Verstarkung von Aluminium mit Kurzfasern Ausgehend von der Oberlegung. daB mit kurzen Fasern verstarktes Halbzeug am besten weiterverarbeitbar. d.n. umformbar sein sollte. wurden Untersuchungen zur Verstarkung von Aluminium mit Kurzfasern durchge- fUhrt. Als erste Technik zur Verbundherstellung wurde dabei die pulvermetallurgische Fasereinbringung gewahlt. 2.1 E r f r 1 D9 Als Ausgangsmaterial standen aus der Schmelze ver- dUste Kaolin- bzw. Mullitfasern (Hersteller Fa. FeldmUhle AG. Plochingen) mit etwa 50 % bzw. 70 % A120p Rest SiOp zur VerfUgung (1). Ihre Zugfestig- 2 keit betragt etwa 25000 N/mm - ihr E-Modul etwa 3 150.000 N/mm2. die Dichte etwa 3.2 g.cm- . Der Haupt- vorteil dieser Fasern war die wirtschaftlich gUnstige 29 Herstellbarkeit, die bei Erzeugung groBerer Mengen einen Preis von unter DM 50, --/kg erwarten lieB.
