The askapop.com facebook, website, youtube, and tiktok sites are all managed by Cecil Rice as part of the Connections Ministry working with the Christian Education Division of his home church, Westminster by the Sea Presbyterian Church. Cecil has been active in Christian Education since the mid 2000's both locally at the church as well as at the Presbytery level working on (and leading at one point) the Leadership Development Committee.
The askapop ministry came about when Cecil was in the hospital and decided when he got out to revive his beloved Pappeye's "Round Tuit" ministry, handing out tokens with their family motto on them along with an invitation to a worship service ... this quickly led to realizing that there were folks that were either afraid, unwilling, or unable to attend a service so Cecil work with the CE committee to create the Connections ministry to meet the folks where they were, offering an "on ramp" for folks to start learning about faith and Christ to see if they wanted to join a worship community as well as to stay connected to the young adults of their own church that can't make it on Sundays due to either work, life, or even location commitments. The goal of the ministry is simply to keep folks connected to Christ and reading scripture, showing how He is alive and well in our every day lives.
