When the Felid Bibliography was compiled in 1988, it was the first of its kind and was offered only to working scientists. Now, 25 years later, it is available for the first time to a new generation of researchers, students, and wild-cat enthusiasts. This volume covers over 200 years of literature on all the known species of cats, contains over 3,400 references listed alphabetically by author and date, and includes indexes by geographic area, species, and subject.

Dr. Foreman received her doctorate from Ohio State University for research on a small, endangered, South American wild cat, Geoffroy's cat. She soon joined the IUCN (World Conservation Union) Cat Specialist Group, where she wrote species accounts for 20 of the 37 species of wild cats for the Red Data Book. She became the research librarian for the Cat Specialist Group, and compiled the first known felid bibliography, which was distributed to scientists worldwide. Foreman founded FRACIG (Felid Research and Conservation Interest Group), which grew to over 1,000 members. This group eventually merged with the IUCN Cat Specialist Group as Friends of the Cat Group. She has written position papers on the conservation of wild cats and provided information to the U. S. Endangered Species Office on wild cat status and conservation. Foreman retired in 2010, founded Ocelot Editing (www.ocelotediting.com), and lives in southern Texas, where she is a writer and freelance editor.
