As the authors explain with concrete examples, real-life stories (and even some self-tests) understanding how the brain works with regard to personal investment strategies, tolerance for risk, spending habits, saving for goals, ensuring estates plans protect their loved ones, and other "money matters" make both an emotional and financial difference. Charles Hamowy CPA, CFP(r): After graduating from New York University in 1978, Charles Hamowy began his career in the accounting profession as a Certified Public Accountant. After a successful decade-long career in accounting he redirected his passion to help others build their personal financial success, adding the Certified Financial Planner(r) credential to his professional designations. Charles is also an executive compensation planning specialist. In 1998, he joined forces with Christopher Conigliaro, CFP, to form a wealth advisory firm. A former financial radio show host and commentator, Charles is a sought after media expert and public speaker addressing topics from investment portfolio design to planning for life's uncertainties. He takes great pride in having incubated several successful small startup businesses. Born in Brooklyn, Charles Hamowy lives and works in New York City. Christopher Conigliaro CFP(r): After graduating from Hofstra University in 1993, Christopher Conigliaro went directly into the financial services industry, where he has happily remained for his entire career. A Certified Financial Planner, Chris manages the successful financial advisory practice in midtown New York City that he co-owns with Charles Hamowy. A dynamic speaker on the subject of personal wealth management strategies, he is also a popular media expert on a wide range of investment products.
