FINDING THE RIGHT PITCH II covers a range of topics, including the formation and construction of triads within the church mode system; singing, transposing, and identifying the church modes; the different types of six-four chords; cadences; harmonic and contrapuntal progressions; the properties of seventh chords; the formation of seventh chords within the church modes and the major-minor tonal system; using the interval of the 7th to improve voice leading; real and apparent seventh chords; interlocking seventh chords; harmonic and contrapuntal sequences; the two-progression framework; singing seventh chords in all positions from a common bass pitch; the utility of nonharmonic tones for correcting faulty motion between chords; and the application of voice-leading principles and chord progression to the piano keyboard. Ninety worksheets complete the study of basic harmony. 344 pages.
