So ist die Geschichte dieses zahlenmaBig kleinen, aber zahen, lebensvollen, tapferen Volkes ein- gebettet in die Beziehungen zu Rumand und Schweden, in den Kranz der Ostseelander, in die Geschichte Europas, der es als ein untrennbarer Bestand- teil von starker, urwuchsiger Wirkungskraft zugehort. Die zahlreichen engen Beziehungen Finnlands zur deutschen Geschichte und Kultur haben sich in den letzten Jahren verstarkt und vertieft.
