About The Book

"Fire-Tongue" is a novel written by Sax Rohmer, and written before 1921. The book is a thrilling adventure story that follows the exploits of Paul Harley, a British detective, who is tasked with unraveling a sinister conspiracy in the Middle East. The story begins when Harley receives a cryptic message from a former client, Sheikh Ismail, warning him of imminent danger. Harley travels to the Middle East to investigate and soon finds himself embroiled in a web of intrigue and deception. He discovers a secret society known as the Order of the Scorpion, which is plotting to overthrow the British colonial government and establish a new Islamic caliphate. As the story unfolds, Harley and his companions face numerous challenges and obstacles, including deadly assassins, treacherous allies, and supernatural phenomena. Along the way, they must use all their skills and wits to unravel the mystery of the Order of the Scorpion and prevent a catastrophic terrorist attack. The book is notable for its exotic setting, fast-paced action, and colorful characters.

About The Author

Rohmer, Sax: - Sax Rohmer was born on Feb. 15, 1883, in Birmingham, England, to William Ward and Margaret Mary. He was an internationally famous British writer who created the evil Chinese criminal Fu Manchu, the hero-villain of various books. The character Fu Manchu later appeared in films, radio, and TV.From childhood, Rohmer was fascinated by ancient Egypt, the Middle East, and witchcraft. Later on, working briefly in the financial district of London and as a Journalist, his developing interest in East Asia created him more into fiction writing. He started using the middle name Sarsfield as a teenager and published his first stories under the name A. Sarsfield Ward. He began to publish only as Sax Rohmer in 1912, and he ultimately utilized this name professionally.
