""Five Children and It"" is a classic children's novel written by Edith Nesbit. The book follows the adventures of five siblings - Cyril, Anthea, Robert, Jane, and their baby brother - who discover a sand fairy while playing in a gravel pit. The sand fairy, known as the Psammead, grants the children one wish per day, but the wishes always come with unexpected consequences. The children use their wishes to go on exciting adventures, but soon learn that the Psammead's magic is not always as helpful as they thought. As the children try to navigate the consequences of their wishes, they must also keep the Psammead's existence a secret from their parents. ""Five Children and It"" is a timeless tale of adventure, magic, and the importance of family.The morning after the children had been the possessors of boundless wealth, and had been unable to buy anything really useful or enjoyable with it, except two pairs of cotton gloves, twelve penny buns, an imitation crocodile-skin purse, and a ride in a pony-cart, they awoke without any of the enthusiastic happiness which they had felt on the previous day.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
