Shepherd, M. Ed Amy: - Amy Shepherd, M.Ed., is a parent, educator, and advocate for children who are blind or visually impaired. Her journey began as the mother of a young man who is legally blind and has grown into a mission to make early learning more accessible, engaging, and joyful for all children.Amy currently serves as the Parent Liaison for the Michigan Department of Education's Resources for Blind and Low Vision. She holds a Master's in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University, a Perkins-Roman CVI Range Endorsement, and a graduate certificate in CVI from the University of Massachusetts Boston.Amy is the founder of the CVI Book Nook, where she develops literacy tools rooted in evidence-based practice and meaningful visual access.
