About The Book

Nachdem in der GroBserienfertigung eine weitgehende Ratio- nalisierung durch Automatisierung des Fertigungsprozesses und damit eine erhohte Produktivitat erreicht werden konnte, stellt sich die Frage nach geeigneten Rationalisierungsver- fahren auch fUr die Bereiche Einzel-, Klein- und Mittelserien- fertigung. Sondermaschinen fUr die Bearbeitung bestimmter WerkstUcke bzw. bestimmter Aufgaben mit sehr hoher Produktivitat, wie sie Au- tomaten darstellen oder gar spezielle Fertigungslinien fUr die Gesamtbearbeitung von WerkstUcken (TransferstraBen) kommen da- fUr nicht in Frage, da diese nicht kurzfristig auf andere Werk- stUcke umgerUstet werden konnen. Sie sind zwar sehr produktiv, jedoch wenig flexibel. FUr die Einzel- und Kleinserienfertigung unterschiedlicher WerkstUcke werden deshalb von zahlreichen Maschinenherstel- lern numerisch gesteuerte Bearbeitungszentren angeboten. Durch die Vielfalt der enthaltenen Fertigungsverfahren und den Ein- satz des numerischen Steuerungsprinzips ist ihre Flexibilitat hoch. Da jedoch bei solchen Maschinen i.a. jeweils nur ein Verfahren ausgefUhrt wird und vielfach auch nur ein Werkzeug im Eingriff ist, ist die Produktivitat vergleichsweise ge- ring / 1 /. Eine Verbesserung bringen hier flexible Fertigungssysteme (FFS), die hinsichtlich Produktivitat und Flexibilitat zwi- schen der TransferstraBe und der universellen Einzelmaschine liegen. FFS sind gekennzeichnet durch die Verkettung von Ar- beitsstationen (siehe 2.2) durch gemeinsame Steuer- und Trans- portsysteme und gestatten die Bearbeitung unterschiedlicher Aufgaben an WerkstUcken eines bestimmten Spektrums in wahl- freier, nicht durch UmrUsten unterbrochener Folge / 1, 2 /.
