La prima grammatica della lingua norvegese edita in italiano. Questo testo è un esperimento per presentare al pubblico italiano uno strumento semplice e accessibile che renda possibile familiarizzare con i concetti di base della grammatica norvegese. È il tentativo di uno studente universitario di risparmiare ai posteri parte dello sforzo necessario ad apprendere la lingua, sforzo che è reso ancora più arduo dall'assenza di una grammatica aggiornata ed esauriente in traduzione italiana. I concetti sono spiegati tenendo conto delle possibili difficoltà a cui lo studente andrebbe incontro e, se l'intento è riuscito, essi dovrebbero essere accessibili proprio a tutti. Certo, una conoscenza della terminologia specifica propria della grammatica non guasta mai e rende il lavoro più facile, ma gli argomenti sono spiegati in modo tale da poter essere compresi anche da chi ha seguito un lungo digiuno rispetto allo studio linguistico e grammaticale. Un'avvertenza importante è la seguente: questo non è un corso completo di lingua (ne esistono già diversi), ma si pone come un riferimento per lo studente che si trovi spaesato di fronte ai metodi un po' troppo pratici dei libri di testo, con montagne di dialoghi e inventari lessicali da memorizzare: visto che è quasi impossibile imparare una lingua per osmosi, e che invece è importante avere in mente un'idea chiara del funzionamento di tale lingua, credo che questo lavoro possa venire in soccorso a coloro i quali trovino problematico capire le regole grammaticali quando sono spiegate in pillole in piccoli specchietti riassuntivi al di sotto dei dialoghi nei libri di testo. La terza edizione è presentata con diverse migliorie: nuovi capitoli, nuove sezioni e una sostanziale revisione del formato.

Roberto Pagani è nato a Cremona e vive a Reykjavík. Ha studiato lingue scandinave e inglese all'Università degli studi di Milano, dove nel 2013 si è laureato con lode, è stato studente Erasmus alla University of Edinburgh, e nel 2015 ha conseguito un MA in "Medieval Icelandic Studiesi" all'università d'Islanda, con una tesi sulla lingua e la paleografia nei due scrivani del Flateyjarbók.
