Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich BWL - Bank, Börse, Versicherung, Note: 1,3, Universität Potsdam, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Es besteht eine weitgehende Einigkeit darüber, dass die umlagefinanzierte gesetzliche Rentenversicherung aufgrund der demografischen Entwicklung in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland nicht länger die komplette Alterssicherung der Beitragszahler finanzieren kann. Derzeit finanzieren etwa zwei Erwerbstätige einen Rentner, im Jahr 2030 wird sich dies auf einen Erwerbstätigen reduzieren. Im praktizierten Umlageverfahren führt diese Entwicklung entweder zu einem starken Anstieg der Beitragssätze oder zu einem Rückgang des Rentenniveaus. Die Rentenreform von 2001 versucht diesem Entwicklungstrend entgegenzuwirken, indem sie die private und betriebliche Altersvorsorge fördert und das gesetzliche Rentenniveau senkt. Im Zuge dessen haben Banken, Versicherungen und Fondsgesellschaften ein reichhaltiges Angebot an Altersvorsorgeprodukten am Markt etabliert, was zu einem intensiven Wettbewerb um die Kundenstruktur der privaten Altersversorger geführt hat. Insbesondere die Fondsgesellschaften konnten sich im Vergleich zu den Banken und Versicherungen in den letzten Jahren immer mehr am Markt der Altersvorsorgeprodukte profilieren. Ausgehend von dieser Entwicklungstendenz im Wettbewerb um die private Altersvorsorge soll die Frage, ob die Alterssicherung mit Investmentfonds der effizientere Weg der Vorsorge ist, als zentraler Gegenstand dieser wissenschaftlichen Abhandlung definiert werden. Dazu erfolgt im ersten Teil der Seminararbeit eine Vorstellung der charakteristischen Strukturen einer Kapitalanlage in Investmentfonds, indem das Wesen und die Ausgestaltungsmöglichkeiten von Investmentfonds sowie die gesetzlichen Reglementierungen thematisiert werden. Im darauf folgenden zweiten Teil der Ausfertigung wird das Angebot an privaten Altersvorsorgeprodukten der Kapitalanlagegesellschaften vorgestellt. Im Besonderen sollen hierbei die Ausgestalt
