Sankari Prasad Sarkar, a people's poet born in the midst of World War II and Indian freedom movement, rediscovers the art of poetry writing on subjects like nature, science, religion, global challenges, and technology. For example, "marginalized millions of poverty, massacre, and disaster" is a poetic narration of the World Trade Tower massacre and Bhopal industrial disaster. "Cloud", "To Eternity", and "Vision" are dedicated on nature. His poetic take on modern day issues is simple and easy to read. He has used a linguistic style that everyone can relate to across the age groups and English reading population. In his own poetic sense he has summarized his work: Looking over the years gone by, Permit me to paint a few rainbows in the sky. Born on January 15, 1942 in Midnapore of Bengal, India Sankari Prasad Sarkar had his degree in Science and later in Metallurgical Engineering. He was born at a time when World War II was in full fury and an all-out struggle for Indian independence was going on. He had been engaged in the production of defense equipments, in industry as a consultant and later with Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) till his retirement as Senior Deputy General Manager.
