Dabei wird sich auf Mitarbeiter im Pflegeberuf beschränkt. Gerade der Beruf in der Pflege ist physisch und psychisch enorm anspruchsvoll und geht zumeist mit einer hohen Stresskomponente einher. Die arbeitende Bevölkerung trägt die Wirtschaft und ist wesentlicher Bestandteil des Erfolges eines Unternehmens. Dies ist kein neues Phänomen und auch der dadurch entstehende Leistungsdruck, die Arbeitsbelastung und die Stressoren sind keine Neuerscheinungen. Dennoch ist es als relativ neu zu betrachten, dass Betriebe ihre Mitarbeiter nicht nur als ein wichtiges "Gut", sondern als die wichtigste Ressource in der Wirtschaft erkannt haben. Eine Ressource, die gefördert und gestützt werden muss. Aus diesem Kontext heraus entwickelt sich der Bereich des betrieblichen Gesundheitsmanagements in hoher Geschwindigkeit. Es gibt zahlreiche externe Anbieter von Gesundheitsma nahmen, es entstehen fortlaufend neue Konzepte und auch die Krankenkassen bieten mehr und mehr Leistungen in dieser Hinsicht an.
