"Bereits heute nutzen einige Unternehmen die Digitale Transformation zu ihrem Wettbewerbsvorteil. Kundenanforderungen können besser erfüllt, Durchlaufzeiten reduziert und Kosten eingespart werden." Diese Vorteile bemerkt man auch im Bereich des Forschungs- und Entwicklungsmanagements. In dieser Arbeit soll anhand des Beispiels des Forschungs- und Entwicklungsmanagements aufgezeigt werden, welche Auswirkungen die Digitalisierung beispielhaft mit sich bringen kann. Zunächst wird auf einige grundlegende Begrifflichkeiten eingegangen. Durch die Betrachtung der Begriffe "Forschung und Entwicklung", "Forschungs- und Entwicklungsmanagement" sowie "Digitale Transformation" soll ein gemeinsamer Rahmen geschaffen werden, auf dem das Assignment inhaltlich aufbaut. Im Anschluss wird der zusammengefasste Begriff Forschungs- und Entwicklungsmanagement aufgeschlüsselt und die beiden Begriffe voneinander abgegrenzt. Zudem werden zwei fiktive Fallbeispiele erläutert. Im letzten Kapitel werden zwei ausgewählte Auswirkungen der digitalen Transformation im Allgemeinen aufgezeigt. Im Anschluss wird anhand der Fallbeispiele aufgezeigt, welche Auswirkungen die digitale Transformation potentiell auf die Fallbeispiele haben kann. Zum Schluss wird das Assignment zusammengefasst, ein Fazit gezogen und eine kritische Reflexion durchgeführt.
