Die TMA-Marker werden mit eigenständiger Analyse anhand von Beispielen aus dem Mauritius-Kreol vorgestellt und erläutert. Repons, kominikasion, mekanisien: Wer die Kreolsprache der Insel Mauritius das erste Mal geschrieben sieht, dem wird die Ähnlichkeit zur französischen Sprache schon nach kurzer Zeit auffallen. Dass es sich also um eine Sprache handelt, die ihren Gro teil dem Französischen zu verdanken hat, vor allem was ihr Lexikon betrifft, ist somit schnell geklärt. Geht man jedoch in der Forschung nach der Kreolsprache von Mauritius in tiefere Detail, so ist nicht nur die lexikalische Ähnlichkeit, sondern auch die grammatische Verschiedenheit bemerkbar. In komplexen Sätzen ist die Parallelität zum Französischen für das Verständnis hilfreich, doch ohne Untersuchung und Verstehen der Syntax ist das Erschlie en mauritisch-kreolischer Texte kaum möglich. In Anbetracht des Umfangs dieser Arbeit wird der Fokus hauptsächlich auf der grammatischen Struktur dieser einen französisch-basierten Kreolsprache liegen. Während in vielen Fällen von einer 'Vereinfachung' von Sprache gesprochen wird, soll in dieser Arbeit aufgezeigt werden, inwiefern es sich wirklich um simplifizierte Strukturen handelt. Ausgehend von einer Definition des Kreols, soll die grobe Sprachsituation auf der Insel von Mauritius dargestellt werden. Das TMA-Marker-System, welches die Kreolsprachen vor allem grammatisch charakterisiert, soll anschlie end zunächst allgemein erläutert werden. Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich demnach grö tenteils mit einem System, welches unter anderem in den romanischen Sprachen nicht existiert und nicht bekannt ist.
