I Stellen wir uns Inge Jung aus Deutschland, Aki Yamada aus Japan, Chong Sook Yang aus S�dkorea und Joan Young aus den USA vor, die in dem konservativen Klima nach 1945 in Deutschland, Japan, Korea oder den USA aufwuchsen. Sie besteigen um 1960 eine Zeitmaschine in das Jahr 2000; ungl�ubig w�rden sie sich die Augen reiben und fragen, ob sie in ei- nem Traum gelandet sind. In diesen vier Jahrzehnten haben Frauen neues Wissen �ber ihren K�rper und ihre Sexualit�t selbst gewonnen, sich angeeig- net und ausgetauscht. In vielen L�ndern haben sich M�dchen Zug�nge zu weiterf�hrender Bildung erschlossen und die Erwerbst�tigkeit von Frauen und M�ttern ist selbstverst�ndlich geworden. Die Norm, dass M�nner als Familienern�hrer f�r "ihre Frau und Kinder" sorgen, verblasst allm�hlich und wird angesichts des wachsenden Risikos von Arbeitslosigkeit und Berufs- wandel zunehmend illusorisch. Eine berufliche Doppellaufbahn ist bei vielen Paaren allein aus �konomischen Gr�nden notwendig geworden. Alleine zu leben ist kein Stigma mehr, sondern eine m�gliche Option unter anderen.
