Melendez, Leilani: - Leilani was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. She attended public school and earned her degree at the University of Florida. Leilani began her teaching career as a middle school teacher at the age of 22. She taught everything from music and drama to Title I math and language arts.After having her second son at 33, Leilani decided to resign and care for her two boys. As her family grew and her boys aged, homeschooling was her main teaching position.Leilani has also fed into the local homeschool community by teaching classes at Class Source of Tampa, Inc. She has also been a member of F.I.S.H., a local homeschool co-op and the FPEA (Florida Parent Educators Association).Since she still holds her teaching certificate for the State of Florida, another way that she supports the community is by evaluating and testing homeschoolers in the state of Florida so that they can meet the homeschool requirements.After having her fourth child, a child with Down Syndrome, she has sought to bring awareness and support to struggling homeschool moms through her YouTube Channel, Living With Eve. This channel provides support, encouragement, and tips by sharing her journey from both a personal and professional perspective. Through this, she done several podcasts and online interviews.
