ABOUT THE AUTHOR Pearce W. Hammond has earned the right to write this humorous book about frequent flying. During his career as a District Sales Manager for a major manufacturer of truck trailers, and later as Executive Editor of a leading trade magazine in the freight transportation industry, he spent many hours in the air as a 'Frequent Flyer' traveling to more than 45 states and logging additional hours in the air to Europe and other parts of the world. While in the air, he wrote down his experiences which enabled him to write this book. Mr. Hammond came by his skill for writing quite honestly. His uncle was famed Savannah, Georgia-born songwriter, Johnny Mercer, who wrote over 1,000 songs and won four Academy Awards. In addition to writing, he is a skilled artist who has written and illustrated other books including a book on "The Gullahs of South Carolina." A native of Savannah, Georgia, he and his wife, Anne, now reside on the banks of the Chechessee River in Okatie, South Carolina.
