And even now I'm still scared, but I finally got to the point where my fear of talking about what happened is less than the fear of what my silence is doing to other women. I don't want my silence to be the reason someone else's assault is swept under the rug and used as a tool of manipulation like mine was. Exposing corruption, fraternization, and illegal activity in the workplace is both risky and scary. And as you are about to find out, taking the high road and doing what's right doesn't always bring the right outcome. But as you will also see, it doesn't make taking the high road and doing what's right any less right. This is a story of resilience and one that encourages women to not give up or give in. It is also a reminder to always remember that dignity and self-respect should serve as both the foundation for life and the weapons you use to defend yourself against any attacks on that foundation.
