Magisterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Archäologie, Note: 1,7, Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel (Ur- und Frühgeschichte), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Arbeit ist erstmalig die Gesamtheit von frühmittelalterlichen Artefakten des Bundeslandes Schleswig-Holstein dargestellt, welche in einen Kontext Musik und Klangerzeugung passen. Damit wird das Ziel verfolgt die Fülle von wikingerzeitlichen Klangerzeugern darzustellen und deren Vielfalt zu präsentieren: Von Kirchenglocken und Schellen als akustische Signalgeber, über Saiteninstrumente und Flöten für Musik und Unterhaltung, bis Lockpfeifen für die Jagd und Rasseln in kultischen Kontexten. Um die Verschiedenartigkeit der Klangerzeuger zu erfassen, wurden sie in einem Katalog systematisch zusammengestellt und in Instrumentenklassen unterteilt. Mit diesem Katalog, sowie graphischer Nomenklaturen der Bauteile von Instrumenten, soll die Möglichkeit eröffnet werden, musikarchäologische Artefakte leichter zu erkennen und in einen klangerzeugenden Kontext setzten zu können. Hierfür wurden die bis dato bekannten Klangerzeuger aufgenommen, au erdem unpublizierte und weitere Objekte, welche vom Verfasser in einen Kontext Klangerzeugung gestellt werden konnten. Ein geographischer und zeitlicher Schwerpunkt der Arbeit liegt auf der südskandinavischen Handelsmetropole Haithabu und deren Umfeld, weil dort Artefaktgruppen aus Skandinavien, Mittel-, Ost- und Westeuropa identifiziert wurden. Durch Vergleichsfunden aus genannten Regionen können die Objekte in Schleswig-Holstein in einen grö eren Kontext gestellt und interpretiert werden. Damit können Klang, Signal und Musik in einen kulturellen Rahmen der wikingerzeitlichen Bevölkerung Schleswig-Holsteins gestellt werden.
