Trotz Studien über Kooperationsnetzwerke wurde der Führung in diesen Organisationen bisher wenig Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. Dieses Buch, das Ergebnis eines Master-Forschungsprojekts, beschäftigt sich daher mit dem Thema Führung in assoziativen Kooperationsnetzwerken von KMU. Zu diesem Zweck wurde die Studie auf der Grundlage quantitativer, qualitativer und explorativer Forschung durchgeführt und die Methode der Fallstudie angewandt. Das empirische Untersuchungsfeld war ein Kooperationsnetzwerk des Einzelhandelssegments im Baumaterialsektor namens Rede Centersul in Mato Grosso, Brasilien. Die Ergebnisse zeigten, dass die Führung im Netzwerk aus formellen und informellen Strukturen besteht und dass ihre Leistung für die Entwicklung und Aufrechterhaltung des Kooperationsnetzwerks wichtig ist, da sie dazu beiträgt, das Vertrauen und das Wachstum des Sozialkapitals zu erhöhen.
