Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2015 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Individuum, Gruppe, Gesellschaft, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ziel dieser Hausarbeit ist es, einen Einblick in das Thema Gentrifizierung zu geben, so dass der Leser die Zusammenhänge zwischen marktwirtschaftlichem Handeln und den daraus resultierenden Folgen besser nachvollziehen kann. Eines der grö ten und aktuellsten sozialökonomischen Probleme in deutschen Metropolen ist die Wohnungsnot. Gründe für diese finden sich viele. Wenn man sich tiefer mit dieser Materie auseinander setzt, dann kommt man zum Schluss, dass einige Faktoren eine gro e Rolle spielen: Der Wohnraum ist nicht nur zu knapp, sondern viele der derzeit noch erschwinglichen Wohnung werden saniert, zusammengelegt und danach mit erhöhten Miet- oder Kaufpreisen neu vermittelt. Dieser Ablauf und die daraus hervorgehenden Konsequenzen, werden im soziologischen Sinne als Gentrifizierung bezeichnet. Bei diesem Gentrifizierungsprozess werden oftmals heruntergekommene und günstige innenstadtnahe Bereiche, durch Renovierungsarbeiten und das Ansiedeln von Gastronomie, Geschäften und Kulturstätten aufgewertet. Nach dieser Aufwertung steigen die Mietpreise in diesen Quartieren durch Investoren und Besitzern. Daraus folgen ein Wegzug der angestammten Bevölkerung und ein Zuzug von finanziell bessergestellten. Ein schwerwiegender Nebeneffekt der Gentrifizierung ist der Verlust der Sozialstrukturen und des Gesichts der Wohnquartiere. Es kommt in den Gro städten zur sozialen Segregation, die zu verschiedenen negativen Konsequenzen und daraus zur Stadtentwicklungskritik führt. Zunächst wird über die genaue Definition und die grundlegenden Thesen dieses Prozesses ein Überblick verschafft. Darauf anschlie end gehe ich auf den geläufigsten Ablauf der Gentrifizierung ein, werde die Folgen und Konsequenzen darstellen und einen leistungsfähigen Lösungsansatz vorstellen.
