Wir mailen, posten, bloggen, skypen, googeln, bestellen online, vernetzen uns in beruflicher Hinsicht via XING und LinkedIn, nutzen Apps, schauen YouTube, recherchieren auf Wikipedia und speichern Daten in nicht greifbaren Clouds. Entsprechend hat sich unsere Gesellschaft innerhalb der letzten Jahre aufgrund der zunehmenden Digitalisierung grundlegend gewandelt. Um als Dienstleistungsgesellschaft und Industrienation wettbewerbsfähig zu bleiben, ist eine starke digitale Wirtschaft unabdinglich. Traditionelle Branchen und Unternehmen geraten dabei unter Zugzwang, man spricht von der vierten industriellen Revolution oder der "Industrie 4.0", deren zentrales Merkmal die Automatisierung und Vernetzung von Prozessen und Komponenten ist, welche schlie lich zu strukturverändernden Prozessinnovationen führt.
