This book is for women who wish to improve the quality of their lives after 40 by seeking to achieve body chemistries close to that of their healthiest days when they were young adults. There is a strong emphasis on hormone balancing as coupled with proper nutrition and exercise. The contents should not be considered comprehensive medical advice but rather information of value in working with your favorite physicians. The authors hope to push the healthcare establishment toward a preventative outlook rather than one of disease management. Topics examined include physical appearance, energy and fatigue, osteoporosis, heart disease, libido, bladder control, menopause and migraines. The better understood these conditions are understood, the more options for treatment and prevention can be considered.

Port R. Martin, EdD, has had a long interest in medical subjects and physical fitness, starting when he began reading medically related books at age 10. After a number of careers in government and private sector organizations, he began researching bio-identical hormones as a possible solution to his growing fatigue and recurring encounters with cold viruses and pneumonia. The positive results he achieved in verifying his research led to this book along with one for men. Arcadia L. Cruz, DBA, had almost completed her medical doctor studies in Honduras when she immigrated to the United States. Upon arrival she became intimately involved in medical research at Baylor University and later participated in numerous clinical trials in both technical and leadership roles. She is currently working at the Moores Cancer Center at the University of California San Diego.
