Obwohl graphische Methoden fur das Konstruieren und fUr die Untersuchung der kinematischen Verhaltnisse angewendet werden konnen, gewahren solche Methoden nicht die Moglichkeit einer mathematischen Behandlung. Eine solche ist in dem vorliegenden FaIle nicht ganz einfach; viele Funktionen sind trans- zendent und rnanche Formeln laden schwerlich zu einer zahlenmaBigen Auswer- tung eiD. Dieses Buch enthalt deshalb Tabellen mit Werten in so kleinen Ab- stufungen, daB Zwischenwerte ohne einen merklichen }j'ehler linear interpoliert werden konnen. Die Tabellen sollen nicht nur Zeit ersparen, sondern die Verringe- rung der Rechenarbeit solI auch verhindern, daB ma den Wald vor lauter Baumen nicht sieht, und soll damit ein tieferes Verstandnis fUr die wesentlichen Merkmale erreichen.
