Seine Wut treibt ihn an, gegen die Windmühlen der Konsumindustrie zu kämpfen und der katholischen Kirche die Augen aufzurei en, die blind ihrem eigenen Kitsch erliegt. Unsere Hochkultur kriselt gewaltig und Pasolini hat es prophezeit. Seine gedankliche Schärfe und religiöse Stärke liegt in der Notwendigkeit begründet, den Skandal in den Dingen sichtbar zu machen und damit in das Herz des Gegenstandes vorzudringen. Diese Arbeit ist wie folgt aufgebaut: In der "Montage des Lebens" (Kapitel 2.1), die die einzelnen Phasen bis zu seinem Tode ordnet, beschwört er sanft die "Kraft der Vergangenheit" (Kapitel 2.2), um dann wütend festzustellen, dass er ein "Fremder in eigenen Land" (Kapitel 2) ist. Nun wird ihm sein "innerlicher, archaischer Katholizismus" (Kapitel 2.3) zur "Quelle der Revolte" (Kapitel 3). Und post mortem ist er "Moderner als jeder Moderne" (Kapitel 4), denn er hat schon früh die Aktualität der Figur "Paulus"(Kapitel 3.1) erkannt und war sich der revolutionären Kraft bewusst, die in der Poesie als "Schriftform des Handelns"(Kapitel 3.2) liegt. In dem autobiografischen Lyrik-Zitat "(...) inmitten eines lebendigen Lichts: ein sanfter, gewalttätiger Revolutionär (...)" wird der "Widerspruch Pasolini" sichtbar. Pasolinis Zerrissenheit zwischen sanftmütig und gewalttätig. Einerseits sein Leben am Tage als Autor in asketischer Bescheidenheit - "seine franziskanische Demut" - andererseits sein geheimes, nächtliches Herumstreunern in der Borgate auf der Suche nach sexueller Befriedigung.
